Learn the theory behind why cartoons work. Get trained in how to write, design, and draw comics to communicate the gospel. Study Manga techniques from a renowned Manga artist from Japan.

Digital Graphics

April 24 - May 5, 2017

Receive hands-on training in Adobe graphics applications to produce digital images and illustrations that draw attention and communicate dynamically.

First Week: Adobe Photoshop
Second Week: Adobe Illustrator


Digital 2D Animation

May 8 - 19, 2017

Learn the basics of animation and how to create 2D digital animated projects using Adobe Flash. Each student will produce an animated short.

First Week: Digital 2D Animation Basics
Second Week: Advanced Digital 2D Animation


Three Seminars Offered This Spring!

Create International Taiwan and the School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions are excited to announce that six weeks of the 2017 SoCAM will be open for shorter seminars! These seminars are open to any Christian who wants to use their art skills and talents to reach the nations with the good news of Jesus Christ.


Requirements

No previous training is required, although a background in art would be helpful. All materials will be provided, but students must bring their own laptop computers for the Digital Graphics and Digital 2D Animation seminars. A DTS (Discipleship Training School) is not required to enroll in any of the seminars.


Schedule

Classes will be held in the mornings, Monday through Friday (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM). Some afternoon/evening activities may also be encouraged.


University of the Nations Credit

Credit for the seminars will be available to University of the Nations degree students at 1 credit per week.
