Create International Taiwan and the School of Cartooning and Animation for Missions are excited to announce that six weeks of the 2017 SoCAM will be open for shorter seminars! These seminars are open to any Christian who wants to use their art skills and talents to reach the nations with the good news of Jesus Christ.

Comics and Cartooning

Week 1: Comics and Comic Strip Development
Week 2: Japanese Manga

Learn the theory behind why cartoons work. Get trained in how to write, design, and draw comics to communicate the gospel. Study Manga techniques from a renowned Manga artist from Japan.

Digital Graphics

Week 1: Adobe Photoshop
Week 2: Adobe Illustrator

Receive hands-on training in Adobe graphics applications to produce digital images and illustrations that draw attention and communicate dynamically.

Digital 2D Animation

Week 1: Digital 2D Animation Basics
Week 2: Advanced Digital 2D Animation

Learn the basics of animation and how to create 2D digital animated projects using Adobe Flash. Each student will produce an animated short.

No previous training is required, although a background in art would be helpful. All materials will be provided, but students must bring their own laptop computers for the Digital Graphics and Digital 2D Animation seminars. A DTS (Discipleship Training School) is not required to enrol in any of the seminars.


Classes will be held in the mornings, Monday (10:00 AM - 12:30 PM) and Tuesday through Friday (9:00 AM - 12:30 PM). Some evening activities may also be encouraged.

University of the Nations Credit

Credit for the seminars will be available to University of the Nations degree students at 1 credit per week.
